Chris Crane Cup 2020 This year we are unable to host an evening devoted to the Chris Crane Cup however the images have been judged and there is a winner. The judge for this year’s competition was Campbell McAuley an experiences photographer from North Shields. There were forty two images submitted covering the Chris’s favourite themes; landscapes, engineering and nature. The winning image is “I am king for a reason” by Paul Kidd. Campbell commented on the image “It was a great study of a majestic beast but the way the photographer had decided to crop in close and let the animals face tell the story was excellent. Technically it was very well shot indeed with great composition, nicely processed, super sharp , nice out of focus background and had a title that added to the shot (sometimes they don’t!). He also added that it was a great competition with some outstanding work. It is unfortunate that we were unable to host Campbell for the evening so many thanks to him for all his efforts in reviewing the submissions and to all the members who made submissions. Congratulations to Paul for his winning image, very well done. We hope to be able to show all the images one evening early in next season’s program Iain Chambers PDI Secretary
