Tonight Gateshead Camera Club hosted the Second leg of the 4 Way competition.
The judge was Stephen Fowler of Ryton & District Camera Club. He started by informing us that his style of judging was to give a wide variation of scores, and true to his word there were some surprises. Everything from 18 – 30. He actually gave four images 30 points, Mallard in Flight, Gosforth. Joey, Cramlington. January Dawn at Cullercoats, Gateshead and Too close for Comfort, Gosforth. Stephen’s critique was fair although some images which were given high praise scored low! As the competition moved on we were joint first with Gosforth at the 7th image on 222 points but sadly Gosforth stole the lead with the final image. Scores for Print leg

On the 9th Febuary Cramlington hosted this year’s 3 way Inter Club Competition, previously the 5 Way, with entries from Blyth, Whitley Bay and Cramlington, with good attendance from all clubs.
Although the night got off to a faltering start when no one had a copy of the images, this was quickly rectified. The judge for the night was Arjun Nambier who provide his constructive critique on each image before providing a score out of 30. Congratulations goes to Blyth for The Hare which was awarded the maximum 30 points. Also thank you to Colin who organised the buffet which everyone enjoyed at the end of the night. The final scores for each club were Joint 1st Blyth & Whitley Bay 264pts 3rd Cramlington 247pts Paul Dunn (Club Secretary) Tonight was the results of the 2nd Open PDI competition judged by Will Ireland. There was a good entry of 47 images covering a wide range of subjects and the standard was high.
The winner was Paul Kidd with his image Room with a view. Congratulations Paul. Well done to both Paul, Brian Sidney and Colin Livingston who all had both placed and highly commended images. Thank you to everyone who submitted images which made for such a good competition Gallery here Winners
