General Rules
Competitions are open to fully paid up members only.
Competition entries must be the intellectual and creative property of the member submitting them.
An image entered into an internal Cramlington Camera Club competition cannot be entered into another internal Cramlington Camera Club competition in the same season, even if the format is different, i.e. Print, PDI, Mono, Colour.
Unless stated there is no set subject.
Unless pre-arranged and agreed with the relevant Competition Secretary, entries submitted after the published closing date for each competition, will not be eligible for that competition.
Points awarded
Each entry into a competition will receive 1 point.
Additional points are awarded for images that make it to the top ten:
1st place, 10 points; 2nd place, 8 points; 3rd place, 7 points; 4th place, 6 points; 5th place, 5 points.
Five Highly Commended images are awarded 3 points.
Points in the Colour and Monochrome Print Competitions and the Projected Digital Image Competitions will be aggregated over the season to determine the overall Photographer of the Year for each competition type and competitor level.
The points in all of the competition types in the Open competitions will be aggregated over the season to determine the overall Club Photographer of the Year, Club Champion.
The “Club Photographer of the Year” must have competed in at least one print and at least one digital competition during the season.
Print Competitions
Prints may be submitted with or without a mount mat.
Max size of print (including mount if used) 40cm x 50cm.
Print Title should be displayed on the back of the print - Photographers name MUST NOT be shown.
Prints should be submitted with a completed entry slip to the print Secretary
Print competitions consist of two classes (Monochrome and Colour) for each leg.
Maximum of 3 prints per class per leg.
Digital Competitions
Max dimensions for digital image 1600 x 1200 pixels (width x height).
Colour space sRGB.
File format jpg.
Digital competitions currently have a maximum of 3 images per leg.
Entries can be submitted by e-mail to the PDI secretary.
Unless pre-arranged with the PDI secretary, late submissions will not be accepted.
Projected Digital Battle
This is a knockout competition that is judged by the members. The images are judged in pairs with the winners going through to the next round. This will continue until there is an overall winner. The results are not included in the end of year competition awards.
Entries: up to a maximum of 4 images.
Themed Competition
Can be Print or Projected Digital Images linked to the stated theme. These are competitions that are judged by the members and the results are not included in the end of year competition awards.
Entries: up to a maximum of 3 images.
The Chris Crane Cup
This is a themed PDI competition. Each member may enter 3 images on the themes of Nature, Landscape & Engineering (to include Civil Engineering). The competition is judged externally.
