Nov 26th - North Tyne Print Competition
This week we hosted the The North Tyne Inter Club Print Competition. Judged by Malcolm Kus, ARPS,DPAGB, EFIAP/b from Alnwick.
A very good turnout for our first Interclub event this season at Cramlington CC, Over 70 members came to represent the clubs. Once again the quality of entry was very high, with a variety of genres on display.
Malcolm had a very difficult task indeed, with 56 entries to judge, and give scores to. He identified a number of commended and highly commended as he progressed through the running order saving the top three to the end. As usual Malcolm gave his critique and comments on each image, identifying print quality and his reasons for the score he allocated for the various authors to ponder.
The final result was;-
1st. Gosforth 200
2nd. Whitely Bay 198
2rd. Tynemouth 198
4th. Wallsend 184
5th. Cramlington 174
6th. Ponteland 173
7th. North Shields 170
Top print "Paying Attention" 30pts, Whitley Bay
2nd "Kingfisher on a Bulrush Seed Head" 29pts, Gosforth
3rd "Arctic Tern in Flight" 28pts, Tynemouth
Lauren thanked Malcolm for his time and enthusiasm and the audience showed their appreciation.
We continued to have a chat over a small buffet and tea and coffee.
Many thanks to our members who turned up early to set up and organize the event.

Nov 19th - Portrait Night
What a great turn out last night, 32 members came out in the cold for our portrait session. Possibly the best turnout I've seen in my membership, thank you all for a great night. Our two models for the night Lynne and Oz, big thanks to them. Both turned out to be very good at taking direction and setting poses, and both enjoyed the evening. We set up two "studios" and started the show. Nikon users were guided by Jamie and Alan and Mark took care of the Canon group. Our members took a variety of images including a couple of Christmas sets and a few using a variety of props. I can't wait for the 7th January 2016 to see the images.

Nov 12th - Overland to OZ - Mary Hartley
Tonight Mary Hartley gave us a presentation on the journey of a lifetime........ "Overland to OZ"
She regaled us with a very descriptive talk of "her" experience of this epic undertaking, and many pictures of her memories. From roadside campsites, the Tsarevets forest, the Underground city of Cappadocia, the spice market of Esahan and many more exotic locations on the route to Australia. She shared this journey with 25 other travellers in a custom built Scania expedition truck. Although not all made the full journey.
A very informative talk and a good question session to finish off with. As usual our President Lauren ask us to show our appreciation in the usual manner.

Nov 3rd - 1st Open PDI competition results
A very good turnout for our first competition in the digital side of photography at the club. A total of 70 images being shown for our judge Mr David Richardson from Ryton and District Camera Club. David explained that he had a difficult choice in choosing the winners , as the overall standard presented to him was so high. He proceeded to give his critique and observations about each image as the evening progressed and announced the Highly Commended images as he went explaining the reason stood out. He kept the suspense up by showing the final five for the end and described why these images came out on top "in his opinion".
I was encouraged to see so many of our new members taking part.
