A fun night had by all, playing with lights and mirrors to create many different and interesting effects. A simple setup of two continuous lights was used, to illuminate the subjects, and we simply experimented. Here I created a double exposure using some defocused lights that were hanging in front of a black background, then combined it with another subject, some items sitting on a mirror Bob, took this great shot of the book from a different angle and you can see that it totally changes the look of the image, really making use of the reflection. Big thanks to Adam, who stood in as a model for us!

12th Oct saw the results of this season’s 1st Open Print Competition. The competition was judged by Chris Graham from Ashington Camera Club.
Chris provided constructive and positive feedback on each of the prints which was well received by the members. With the wide range of subjects Chris had a difficult task to decide on the best prints. Congratulations go to Colin Livingstone who stole the show taking 1st place in both the mono and colour competitions. Colin Livingstone also pulled off a “straight” in the colour completion, with 1st, 2nd and 3th places. At the end of the evening Chris stayed behind to talk to the members about the prints and provide additional feedback to individual members. A full list of the prints 'placed' and' highly commended' are shown below. To view the images, both colour and mono click here Paul Dunn (Print Competition Secretary) Colour Mono
