MERRY CHRISTMAS

Ladies & Gents
The camera club Christmas social is planned on the program for December the 16th and there has been various discussion’s with the committee with split opinions as to the safety at this time with Covid. I have been monitoring the Covid situation daily now for the past 10 days just for the Newcastle / area north to Morpeth and in-between and yesterday just over 40,000 new cases have been recorded in a 24 hr period. With this in mind a decision had to be made and I have decided as president of the club to make the call and cancel the Christmas social. I fully understand for some this is a disappointment and a relief possibly for others and some might say then how can we meet at the church ?, The church is a different situation we are fully in control at the church and we have the room to distance ourselves by spreading the chairs out and opening windows etc. For a Christmas social in a pub we have no control at all of the numbers in the building or the ventilation therefore as I said a decision had to be made to cancel. If the situation improves we can look at having a social gathering at the end of the season, I do hope you understand. That means that this Thursday Dec 9th will be our last meeting before the Christmas break, I whish you all a merry Christmas and a happy new year. Best Regards Chris Houghton Our guest this Thursday is Phil Punton. Phil is a North East based professional photographer who works in many photographic genres including portraiture, sport and dance, also supporting local media & the NHS. Phil also offers teaching via studio, location and live events.
A reminder to all members that the closing date for this competition is Thursday 9th December. All those wishing to enter please ensure you have your prints to Paul Dunn by this date.
