Hi All

 Just an update for this coming Friday 29th October, however  I must apologise for my absence this last three weeks. I had to attend a meeting in Austria that transpired into several meetings now done and heading back after the weekend. 

  As you all know Friday the 29th is the night we have planned to celebrate the clubs 50 years and a social evening has been arranged at the Plough Pub in Cramlington. The format is informal so there is no speaker as such.

1  We do have a buffet booked for the evening and there are some gluten free options available for those who eat gluten free.

2  I would like to ask members if they could donate an item for a raffle to be held on the night nothing too expensive similar to the Christmas raffle to be drawn on the night.

3  The big screen will be put up and a selection of images will be rolling on the screen from the pas
.   
4  I am please to say two of our founder members have said they will join us for the evening a
   Mr Ian Woodrowe and Peter Gowan I am sure we will make them very welcome.

5  Jo March from the Northumberland Council will also Join us and will give us an update on the Northumberland Archive project.
 
So that is the evening the committee are looking forward to seeing you there please let me know if you can donate an item for the raffle.

This October Cramlington CC celebrates its 50th year. To celebrate this milestone in the clubs history there will be a party held on Friday 29th October in the upstairs room of ‘The Plough’ pub in the village. A buffet will be provided.

Ian Woodrow & Peter Gowan, two of the founding members have accepted our invitation to attend with hopefully others to follow.

More on this event will follow shortly.

Please note that the meeting scheduled for Thursday 28th October will not now take place.

We have recently received the following sad news from Gateshead CC.

Hi all
 
It is with great sadness that I announce Mavis Ord passed away yesterday 9 October 2021.  Mavis was well known as a judge and a lecturer and had many friends across NCPF clubs.

Mavis had been ill for some time and went to live with her daughter in Stoke on Trent at the beginning of this year.  Mavis' funeral will be in Stoke on Trent but she will be brought up to South Shields and her ashes buried with her son in Harton Cemetery.  

The enclosed photograph was taken by her daughter in May this year before her health deteriorated.

1st Open Print Competition
Tonight (7th Oct) saw the results of this season’s 1st Open Print Competition and the first one in almost 2 years. Tonight’s competition was judged by wildlife photographer and film maker Alan Hewitt.
 
Alan provided constructive and positive feedback on each of the prints which was well received by the members. With the wide range of subjects Alan had a difficult task to decide on the best prints.  
Congratulations go to Pauline and Tom Wilson who stole the show taking 1st place in both the mono and colour competitions. Congratulations also to Colin Livingstone who pulled off a “straight” in the mono completion, with 2nd, 3rd and 4th places.
At the end of the evening Alan stayed behind to talk to the members about the prints and provide additional feedback to individual members.
