.This Thursday (25th November) our guest is Pauline Pentony. MA, ARPS, AFIAP, DPAGB. Pauline is a North East based professional photographer specialising in dance and portrait photography. Talks and presentations by Pauline are in great demand and we are delighted that, at long last she was able to accept our invitation to to visit us at CCC.

Hosted by Gosforth Camera Club Judge George Ledger. Clubs take part in this completion which is spread over 2 legs, the first Pdi (November) and Print (February Harry McAtominey welcomed all guests to the Zoom meeting and David Brown gave us a brief introduction to the rules and the judge for the night George Ledger from Consett Photographic Society, an accomplished sports photographer. George introduced himself and explained that he enjoyed looking at and judging all the images in the competion. The overall results;- Gosforth. 1st place with 249 points Cramlington 2nd place with 228 points Morpeth 3rd place with 212 points Gateshead 4th place with 203 points So still an opportunity to improve with the print leg in 2022. George gave two images the maximum score of 30 points, Carraig Fhada Lighthouse by Leo Douglas of Gateshead Gannet Tug of War by Rob Kenny of Gosforth Cramlington’s top score was; Alec Cowley’s “Sleeping on the job” 27 ( nice color’s, showed tension, well processed) Bill Stephens, “Well Read” 22 (good set up, lighting well done, good props) Bob Finlay, “Joey” 20 (good subject, stark image, blurring of tattoos, nice contrast) Paul Dunn, “Lindisfarne Icons” 23 (good strong composition, good sky, good balance) Paul Kidd, “Five Minute Warning”26, (nice viewpoint, good horizon, clouds a bonus) Colin Livingstone, “Splash” 21 (splash on face, catching the shot, shutter speed) Pauline Wilson, “Pink Rose” 22 (well controlled light, great DOF, lovely subject) Jim Meikle, “Green Frog on Cala Lily” 20 (black background, contrast, crop?) Colin Livingstone, “No 825” 22 (wanted more background, good colour and sky) Paul Kidd, “King for a Reason” 25 (liked the pose, story telling, different crop?) Colin Livingstone Inter club Secretary Don't forget this Thursday (18th) is Members Creative Night when we will be joined by 'Saviours Haven Sanctuary' who will be bringing along a fox, 2 Meerkats, a snake and a parrot for us to photograph. We will also be joined by 'Amy' who will pose with the animals.
This Thursday (11th) we welcome our friends from Ryton & District P.S. We look forward to seeing their members presentations.
For the first PDI competition this year it was a pleasure to see a return to the club Linda Golightly from Whickham Photographic Club to judge the competition. Linda had previously judged our last competition of the 2019/20 season but was unable to come to the club to present the results as meetings had been suspended due to the pandemic so she was particularly welcome to what was a very well attended meeting.
There were 42 entries with a broad range of subjects. Thanks to Linda for her constructive comments on all the images and to all the members who submitted entries. Well done Bob Finlay who had the winning image with “Tom”. Special mention to Paul Kidd who was second and his other two entries were highly commended.
