Tonight's (1st Feb) meeting proved to be a bit of a mixed bag and slightly disjointed affair.
Billed as ' An opportunity to show members images from the still life & creepy crawly nights' uptake was a tad on the lean side. Members who did take up the challenge showing images ranging from snakes, spiders and geckos to flowers vases and old cameras included Pop Brannon, Adam Burness, Ray Thompson, Paul Dunn & Colin Livingstone. Colin showed how he edited an image of a Rainbow Boa to turn it from ordinary to extraordinary. Jamie Welsh showed a series of sunrise & sunset images. This was followed by an AV entitled 'Guess the Local Landmark'. A series of silhouettes of local landmarks inviting members to guess which, before the true image revealed itself. This was kindly put together and shown by Alec Cowley. Alan Carr showed how an image taken at random with no specific intention developed over a period of time with the addition of other elements and images and copious use of Photoshop layers, developed into a competition winning image. With still a little time left the evening finished with a DVD showing some of the 2017 NCPF Championship winning images. Many thanks to all those members who contributed to the evening's entertainment. Bob Finlay. (President)
